Growing Menagerie

Maise rescued a baby cardinal from the predatory cats. We are now nursing it back to health. Then on Memorial Day, while walking down our street to see the parade, Maise found a baby raccoon under a car. It had been injured, so we took it home to nurse back to health as well. The cardinal we named little Red and the coon is currently going by Mischief Maker.

Across the Universe

I finally went to the library, after a long absence They are renovating it, adding a new entrance. Anyway, I got Across the Universe, dvd, which I throughly enjoyed, the critics be damned. I don't know why they hated it. Maybe the Beatles are finally losing their audience. It has a great young cast and cameos by some famous including Eddie Izzard. Maybe it will be a cult hit like Rocky Horror. I could imagine people having across the universe parties and dressing up and singing along. U-tube has some videos of across the universe by Fiona Apple and Ruffus Wainright which are worth viewing. Remember, don't let the critics make up your mind, or jq public either, for that matter. Different strokes and all that. Brave viewing!

snow blizzard

March 8th. Too bad I don't have a camera to photograph the snow. It is still falling. I think this may be the deepest yet.
Yesterday I ventured out to the post office, but today, no way am I going anywhere. Maise and I are snowbound. The cats stay in the basement. I am grateful we have electricity and gas. Guess I will read, make pop corn, and dream of warmer weather which will eventually come. Snow-showers are even predicted for St. Patricts day!

Annie Get your Gun

I saw the play, Annie get your gun, at the school across the road from my house, Valley View. Allison played clarinette in the orchestra.
Kim England played Annie Oakley. She was great! She auditioned for American Idol, but was turned down because of her age. They had a real horse on the stage.

Sarah and Maise

still freezing to death

I took Aram home yesterday, because the weather is suppose to get worse and he was champing at the bit. He did eat alot and gained more weight. Now weighs 241lb. Maybe it is the medicine that makes him feel like he is starving all the time. He did some drawings in ink which I think are quite good, but he doesn't think they are. If I had a scanner, I could post them. I will save them in any case and may use the fish as a pattern to cut out in wood.

mixed up senses

See me with your fingertips. Touch me with your eyes. Taste me with your nose. Smell me with your tongue.
Mixed up senses, sounds like fun! Change when you please. Don't inform. Mystery is everything, knowing is not. Control is an illusion. Fate chooses our path. Surrender is the answer. Resistence leads to persistence. Why swim against the tide? Fish know better. Let nature be your guide.

Sarah on Halloween

See you later, alligator

Tuesday tripping

It is still miserable, weather wise. Aram is eager to return to Lebanon. The internet is up and running after being down yesterday, don't know why it quit and don't know why it is working now. Mercury is direct! Thank heavens for that!
Final episode of Monk on Friday. I know he faked his death. They can not kill off the main character. I will try to post some pictures.
